Thursday 22 September
Everything is ready to go.
Most of the clothes are packed thanks to Deb and are all set out in the
spare room. Everything has a place and
everything is in it’s place.
All we have to do tomorrow is to pack the car, clean the
windows and lights, use my new compressor to check the tyres and fuel up on the
way out of town.
We have the trip roughly planned.
The start of our route to Perth will be (The first few days
at least):
Gunnedah to Nyngan, 364 Km and 4 hours according to the NRMA
Trip Planner. We are staying at the Nyngan
Riverside Caravan Park situated on the Bogan River. We have a cabin booked for Friday night.
On Saturday we plan to head to Broken Hill. It is 625 km and 8 hours down the track. We have a cabin booked at the local caravan
park for that night.
Sunday we plan the head into South Australia and Port
Augusta in particular. No bookings here
yet. The SA School Holidays don’t start
for another week so we don’t think accommodation will be a problem. (Famous last words I know). Port Augusta is another 5hr 30min towards our
destination.
Monday is as far as I have planned so far and our
destination will be a little village on the Great Australian Bight called
Streaky Bay. This is said to be a
favourite destination for Adelaide holidaymakers. We’ll see what it is like. We may stay there for an extra day. We will play it by ear from here.
I’ll try and get something up on the blog at the end of
every day. If the day is long there may
not be a post. Just bear with me.

HAHA i remember Streaky Bay, when we were traveling around Oz we stopped there and that where we got the phone call that Stacey was pregnant!! :)
